Hell no to both ideas. Though having 8 pokemons in a team doesn't look soooo bad, 6 is enough. About the quadruple battles. I don't even liked triple battles, certainly I wouldn't like quadruple. Seems too much. Double is enough.
My suggestion for gym leaders' type would be (in no particular order):
Dark (we don't have one at all)
Steel (there's only 2 steel-type gyms)
Fire (since gen 3 we don't have one; not counting with Stration Gym)
Grass (there's only 2 grass-type gyms)
Psychic (Since Gen 3 we don't have one)...
I'd love to!! Certainly they would find a way to, later, we come back to the good side, but it would be awesome if we could play, even a little bit, in the bad side.
Well, in my opinion, as long as the anime continue to satisfy the people, I think the sell will not have a big drop. I think (and say this because I already went through it) the anime gives the viewer the desire to have his own pokémon, build his own team. And I think that's one of the reasons...
I've liked a lot of suggestions I've read along the thread:
The idea of Sydian of re-battle the gym leaders is awesome, in my opinion. It would be a good chance to level up your team and it would be a good point in the game's story where we should prove we deserve to challenge the Elite Four...
The world is in constant change, there will always be some something who estimulate their imagination to create a new pokémon. Besides, they must have a lot of stories in beta-mode that can be used to create a new game.
They will only stop when they realized is not worthy to create a new game...
