Not to be that guy... but who did you ask for the permission of the Pokemon sprites from Vega and the other rom hacks that team did? Last time I checked, the original Japanese team went entirely anonymous.

Kinda forgot to mention this, but one thing that really turns me off with the Gen 1 games' graphics is the absolutely atrocious backsprites. While Yellow improved most of the front sprites for Pokemon, the backsprites remain the terrifying originals.

Unfortunately both my US and Japanese copies of Blue Version have been stolen, but I do still have my copies of Yellow, Red, and Green (original copy, not a repro). I'm pretty sure all of their batteries are deader than the DSi, but the games themselves work just fine.
