Thanks. I didn't think simply building one would work, and that I would need some extra coding or something for the game to say it's a pokemart, rather than a normal home. That's what I meant.

I would not put tall grass in a starting town, because you have the jokers that like walking in it with no pokemon and seeing how the game glitches out. Other towns are okay, but not anywhere before you get as pokemon.

Well, Gamefreak is a second party developer, so Nintendo will probably have more for them to do. Also, they have other games that they work on, including the Kirby and Smash Bros. series.
