I concur, this is a great idea. Maybe make something like the bucket tool in MS Paint? Have two buttons that switch between paintbrush(one tile at a time) and bucket(cover all tiles in the one selected). Also, this map editor is made in Java right? How do i set it up in Eclipse? Sorry, I know...

I haven't tested this out yet, but have you sent the ROM to the EZ-Flash IV with it manually changed to 1024Kbits and FLASH save? Maybe the header for the game was changed, so the client doesn't recognize the game as Pokemon FireRed. I believe this is what DestinedJagold did with his hack too.
