I hoped that Ash would catch all the starters, like he did in the Kanto/Johto series, but true as you said, they should focus on training them so they can evolve. I also think brock should catch more pokemon, and I would like it to be rock pokemon

It's a shame Ash didn't evolve Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Totodile and Cyndaquil. I always pictured that Totodile was going to evolve, don't know why, just thought it would be more likely. But why did Ash stop to catch starters? hope he gets Chimchar, miss that Ash caught them all.

I've caught a black Zubat, and now it's a black Golbat, and when I was fishing on the route above Vermillion city, I got a light blue Poliwirlh:D now it's a green Poliwrath

Hoenn pokemonn can be found everywhere, if you can be patient, you'll find different kinds all over Johto.

I've caucht two Taillows, one Zigzagoon, one Skitty and starters(not saying which) you just have to be patient.

it's not hard to catch hoenn pokemon, you'll have to look hard and not get tired of looking!
