That's a good point actually. However, in the 'normal' pokemon universe the only way to get them is through cloning of fossil material.

In PMD2, why does the definition of 'Extinct' mean 'all over the place from the beginning of the game to the end'? Obviously I don't expect the Extinct pokemon not to feature at all but shouldn't they at least be rare, maybe have their own out-of-the way dungeon, maybe on a plateau Lost World...

One link I'm fond of is <lock-on type move> + <1HKO move> which can kill absolutely anything one-shot. I'd want a high pp move in the other two slots though for the horde-killing. Possibly a powder snow/blizzard perhaps?
