Hooray! Happy to have been of service.
I actually also just finished up hard mode Grimm. I ended up fielding a Mega Alakazam and tracing Smeargle's Wonder Guard; that, plus some entry hazards, led to a nearly complete sweep of his team. Only two of his pokemon can inflict supereffective damage...
Milotic has good defenses and a lot of resists thanks to gaining Fairy typing in this version, and it would be the only pokemon on your team to resist Water, which your Mega is weak to. Its Special Attack is pretty workable; Scald is excellent and covers your team's double Ground weakness, plus...
My guess is that you're inbreeding your pokemon; the 0 IV thing happens when you repeatedly breed pokemon with their parents or siblings. You ideally want to be breeding together two pokemon that share no genealogy; the scientist guy to the left of the daycare will tell you how genetically...
I find it useful to have a defensive pivot -- something really bulky that doesn't share a lot of weaknesses with your team, and ideally has some healing. I'm using a Ferrothorn at the moment; Toxapex or Om-Luxray are also good choices. There are also a few really solid Ultra Eviolite users...
You can use a very similar stalling strategy for the corruption -- I wanna say you use a Dark/Steel type, don't remember what kind of nullifier; anyway, it's possible to be invulnerable to its attacks.
I actually haven't gotten around to putting a serious team together for that yet, but I just took a quick run at it with my generic squad. I didn't manage to get all the way through, but I made pretty good headway even with my girls mostly in the 100~110 range.
Here are my impressions...
The very last card I got in my collection was Rattata, which to my knowledge doesn't spawn anywhere and can't be acquired outside of an auction. I remember Drowzee being on my short list of otherwise-unobtainable cards as well. Took a little less than a thousand boosters, which was an endeavor...
One little thing I noticed recently is that the new Mega evolutions don't seem to follow the typical stat boost regime.
All megas in the core games have their base stat totals increased by 100 (except Alakazam briefly due to some weirdness). None of the new megas adhere to that pattern...
You can basically guarantee 5GP dudes by carefully examining egg groups and making clever use of power seeds. Some people find this sort of process intolerable but I personally think it's extremely relaxing.
We start with any breedable pokemon that doesn't evolve, or that evolves very easily...
You're right, of course. Any balance change will end up making some people unhappy, although in this case you'd at least be nerfing players and enemies by about the same amount (actually for hard mode you'd be nerfing enemies more, since most players aren't going to go straight for 5*; I had a...
Okay, all done with Hard mode! Solid conclusion to a solid game. Loved the final fights; I found DEUS much harder than the dreaded W.T., but I think that's because my team was ill-suited to it in particular.
I think I now have a clearer idea about the difficulty weirdness. The crux of it is, as...
A pokemon holding a power seed can pass on its GP only once; after that, the seed is consumed. As far as I can tell, the chance to consume the seed is based on the GP of the pokemon holding it (more stars is less chance, down to maybe 5~10% at 5*). You can check the star rating of eggs in their...
Spotted a bug: Magic Bounce doesn't appear to reflect Stealth Rock. Might only apply on the turn Magic Bounce is acquired; I'm using a Mega Absol. It's happened to me a few times now.
Edit: Also doesn't work on Sticky Web, including on turns after I completed the Mega Evolution.
Edit 2: Also...
