You gotta wait for the other person to come online. Or tell them to get thier backside on it. It's a pain with the different timezones. Im tryna build up a hefty roster of friends for trading and battling with. THe more people you have the more chance there is of someone being online.

The children should be considered on this one it may be to keep them playing! If they can have a little challange but not one that they cant solve after few attempts then they will play on. Another example of one set AI is Fable, yet that's not a kids game so there may be more behind it!

If it's anything like the AI 'gramming in Fire Red and Leaf Green then it's totally randomised. Ruby seemed to have a pattern to it but the other two didn't. They might've knocked that on the head with Platinum.
