I've only ever evolved and trained him/her on Crystal. I used the duplicate pokemon trick on Eevee and got them all. My fave evolution though is Flareon because I like fire pokemon.

I think that in pokemon yellow Prof. Oak can't remeber his own grandson's name when you first get to name your rival. I think he says something along the lines of "This is my grandson you've been rivals since your was a baby. Oh, what was his name again" Senile old fool :)
