The first Drayano hack I played was Renegade Platinum and I really enjoyed it (probably because Gen 4 are my favourite games).
I started to play Firered Omega a couple of days ago and noticed that the game is completely overrun with Pokémon. I'm not even at the second gym and had already 100...
I have three major issues with the moves in Pokémon:
1. Accuracy: Obviously, there must be weak and stronger moves as you progress through the game, but Accuracy isn't used cleverly to balance against Power. More than 70% of all attacking moves have 100% accuracy anyway, which makes weaker moves...
Hello everyone,
I'm doing a Firered rom hack and currently going over the Pokémon's types. I need a little help deciding which Pokémon's type to change
(some are not listed, because I'm sure about changing them).
If you got an idea that's not listed in the poll, feel free to share it under this...
Hello everyone,
I started rom hacking Pokémon Emerald with its expansion, but wanted to move to an easier FireRed/LeafGreen project in order to practice scripting and hacking in general. I was wondering if there is an extended version of the FireRed decomp project like pokeemerald-expansion or...
I already downloaded the pokeemerald-expansion onto my computer, but I'm scared about missing crucial steps before the get-go.
What are the most important steps to set up a project in Visual Studio Code and link it to GitHub?

I always here that it takes years to complete a full game (from scratch), but this was said back when binary hacking was the only thing available.
How much quicker is Decomp hacking...
I want to use an ochre (yellow/orange) color every time the player speak/thinks, but can't find any files where information about text colors are stored apart from the charmap.txt file.
Somebody told me you can't do it directly, only via the color palettes, but that didn't help.
I also didn't...
That sounds tough - I'll also have to remember which event depends on earlier events I might have deleted.
Are there any resources that map out the events of the storyline in a graph or tree-like structure or even written format?
Hello everyone,
I'm doing a pokéemerald-extension rom hack and want to create an alternative storyline starting in a different town with a new protagonist.
However, I want to maintain the basic structure of the game: same maps, trainer battles, wild encounters, etc. - except for the beginning...
How is this supposed to work correctly? There's over 1000 maps and RPG Maker XP only allows for 999 tilesets. Also the mapinfos.rx is all messed up, when you copy and paste the data into Pokemon Essentials the Maps are subfoldered.
