Nah, considering his ethics regarding Pokemon I think one battle is enough to make his point to the player. More than that and it would break character--he never was very much into Pokemon battling for the sake of battling or becoming the best, but because he had a goal and was testing you along...

I'm having the same problem and I know I befriended an Espeon, too :\ Do you remember the link to the game page? They must have taken it down on the games page itself because I can't find it.

I'm training a Poocheyna and a Shinx to maybe replace my Purrlion and Zebstrika, but it does feel a bit like cheating somehow. I'll probably challenge the Elite with a Gen 5 team first before switching in the other Pokemon.
