A Wii can play both Wii Games and GCN Games. The GCN Games STILLneed the GCN controller to play GCN games. And Yes, you can still use the GBA-GCN Cable.

I dont know about the rod, but no, you can not catch Mew in Gold/Silver/Crystal. Only in Red/Blue/Yellow.

Catching Latias or Latios works in Emerald. The differences is that in Ruby/Sapphire, depending on the version, is the pokemon you got to catch. In Emerald, you get to choose which one to catch. Red is for Latias, and Blue is for Latios. Both are activated after defeating the Elite 4.

I have to agree. The last 4 Seasons, Ash should know Team Rockts disquises! It was funny when he was dumb the first 3 seasons. Now, he is on purpose, or want attention. On battles, it seem luck...
