personally I wouldn't be surprised if there was even less than 60, I think it's clear game freak is more interested in gimmicks that control the gameplay mechanics and unfortunately the story than designing mons that present interesting exceptions to normal gameplay

Yeah I mean it's great but I'm a 90's kid so really there's something about that late 90's early 00's watercolor-esque art that I cherish in all anime and will always be biased towards.
