Idk why they didnt go with the design of the boy from the other frontier manga.
His character design was that of the boy you help there except for whatever reason in the actual game they just used the sprite of a bug catcher... but he did have actual art drawn for him that...
I'm not sure how I would want them to resolve this issue.
However, I can see them doing what they did with Blue.
I want to say that in stadium 2 for n64 the female player sprite would take the form of red with brown pigtails which was supposed to be Crys, so maybe...
Well, for the overworld sprite just use the overworld editor.
For the trainer icon on the trainer card you can use unLZ.gba and look for the section with the trainer sprites and eventually find it there and change it however you want. Just have to make sure the icon is compatible (indexed)...

I changed the palette applied at the bottom to the one normally used by red then it would have worked. However, I guess even if I reassign it in OWE that the palette will go back to the one originally used by...

Why did Red get discolored like that when I switch him and Blue?
Same thing happened in Emerald when I switched Brendan and Wally...
I switched blue/gary's ow with red in firedred using the overworld editor.
I also switched made sure his palette was switched from 05 or 06 or w/e it was to 00 so retain his color without affecting any other trainer using that palette.
Now, when I see red in prof. oaks lab, his sprite is that...
