I'm surprised Bulbasaur is doing so well. He was always definitely the third wheel when it came to the starters. Or I guess fourth wheel, considering.

I know this is a very minor complaint, but it always drove me mad how clunky the menu navigation was with your Pokemon. You had to press A to go from their stats to their moves. Then pressing A again kicked you out to your team menu. And you couldn't just push up or down to quickly rotate to...

Red, just because it has better exclusives. I'll always take Oddish / Arcanine / Electabuzz over their Blue version counterparts any day. Although the one exception is Sandshrew. I love that little guy but I've never been able to use him. : <

based on design, I'd have to say Raichu. I think it has a really cool design and it's a shame Pikachu gets all the love. But for sentimental value I'd have to pick Hitmonchan. I dunno why, I've just always loved that derpy boxer.

The first generation has a lot of quirks. Psychic type is overpowered because it doesn't really have any weaknesses. Ghost is supposed to be effective against it but isn't due to a programming error, and there are only like 3 damaging bug type moves and they're all super weak, so that's useless...

So far I'm only certain about using Rowlet and Mimikyu. But Minior / Drampa / and Wimpod are definitely contenders as well, I'll just have to wait and see if they grow on me enough.
