Iv'e always liked the whole idea of leveling up different party members in games and learning new abilities, therefore i like similar RPG's that use these same principles.

Yeah, I don't think that telling them about competitive battling would make the situation any better, especially if they are not into video games they will probably just see you as more of a 'nerd'. IMO you should just act casually e.g. "yeah, i play pokemon so what?"

Definitely better gameplay and graphics wise, although for some reason i don't really care for the newer pokemon, i prefer to play games within the first 3 gens and im always down for some good rom hacks. I also don't really like the fact that there are so many legendary pokemon now, its kind of...

Well my favorite game is Silver as it was my first Pokemon game and you could go back and playthrough Kanto which i thought was awesome, so im going with gen 2.
