What happens if I evolve my Bulbasaur earlier than it's supposed to be? Would it affect the story in a bad way? I just beat Brock and it's already lvl 15.

thanks man. :-) i'm at the cerulean city right now, this hack is awesome. edit: i catched bulbasaur but it has everstone. i guess ash's bulbasaur didn't evolve. should i take the everstone or follow the anime? do i need a bulbasaur in some certain events?
