I must say, working at a checkout is fine for the first hour or two. During that time, I'm really perky and time just flies by. Then my energy levels just drop and the rest of a shift is a drag. I think I should probably get some new work shoes. I guess when you're standing for a minimum of three hours, it really does matter. I have orthopedic soles in my work shoes, the problem is that it is thicker than the original ones, and my foot is too thick for the shoe. I remember over Christmas, I was working six hours or more every day and I'd come home every night and have to use RICE on my feet and ankles (Raise Ice Compress Elevate) because they were so swollen.
It might be, they have so much of it in the store room, it's crazy. I feel like I'm insulting people by asking it. If there is a man and woman together, I'll direct the question at the woman, even if the man is the one buying the stuff.
I know how much it sucks to fall ill and miss stuff. It's especially bad because when you're sick, you don't feel like doing any work. Physics is hard to catch up on for me. The teacher is useless, and he makes confusing notes and doesn't save them. Maths is good though, the teacher saves the notes every lesson, and is probably the one of the best teachers I've had.
So what careers does that open up to then?
