I understand the scale I things, and that's why it had been mentioned that only a few poke's would be able to have this feature. And I believe we all realize the follower feature wouldn't be needed, like shinies. It would be just for fun like a lot of other things. For example, video games.

I agree completely, but I do almost feel like this Gen 5 is trying to capture the hearts and minds of that older, Gen 1 & 2 audience. From what I read on forums it seems to have worked too. "Excited to be back, haven't played since Heart Gold", for example. I feel that might also be why all 3...

Yeah, I even remember something similar to this for catching Ralts since it is so rare (at first). But I think the Ralts trick was even trickier. Something like, sync in first pokemon slot and static in the third. I can't confirm, but I recall reading something to that effect.

I got myself a random Gurdurr not too long ago, EV trained and kind of played with it. Evolved to Conkeldurr and I'm not impressed with it past the fact that it is shinny.

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but there is also an O-Power that stacks with Flame Body / other abilities for helping in egg hatch steps. :)
