Well, more likely, the audio is going more slowly than the audio (or faster), and something needs to be sped up. I don't know any good free video editors for doing so, but I'm sure there's some out there (If we're talking commercial, I'd recommend Sony Vegas).

Take a look at the battle script for the first battle with Gary. If there's a problem with that, I don't think there's a way to do it without ASM.

Fixing the battles is simple enough, but forcing the name would be easier and I think it would also be considered good practice. I'm not trying to get rid of the naming system, just for Oak to ignore the input.

Well then. Is there any way to change the Rival's name in a script then? I just want to force the Rival's name. I also may try using ASM, as I know the general area of where it is.

Is there a way to edit the script of Oak's introduction (not the text, mind you)? An offset or something to put in XSE (I'm using LeafGreen)?

Are there any offsets that are specifically for the engine and should not be touched for anything other than ASM hacks? Because there's a bug in my hack where the right button doesn't work during battles, and the left button does what both the left and the right button are supposed to do.
