Lunos, thanks for your response. So I implemented Ghoulash's system and was able to successfully make this work including the dynamic palletes. The only issue I have now is that the rain and fog palletes become all messed up (different colours) and the player character goes on top of the fog and...
I'm having a lot of trouble adding this. First all the sprites turn to Brendan and then there's all sorts of glitches. The code also seems out of date. Is there an updated version of this somewhere?
I think the way to overcome the fact that the HM move is taking up a move slot, but still use it's benefit in overworld interaction is to:
1. Include a move deleter in every town
2. Include a move rememberer in every town
I think this is a good solution.
I feel like something that kills a lot of hacks is trying to use custom tiles.
Tiles are so time-consuming and don't progress a hack to completion the way scripts and mapping do.
I bet if people just used the default tiles, we would see a lot more hacks completed.
I wouldn't take an artist's work without permission, but if someone used their art, used it in a fangame and credited the original owner, what is there to complain about?
Its about how you use them and how memorable the fakemon are.
Out of the 386 pokes in gen III. How many are really memorable and used alot? Probably about 50.
I think 40 fakemon is good, provided they are used in the plot and are good designs. Give some of them a story like mewtwo or something
It's not the number of fakemon IMO, it's how you use them and how memorable they are.
Think of the 386 pokemon in gen III. How many of these are really memorable and stand out and people like? Probably only about 50.
You only really need 40-50 good designs and it'll be great.
The guy who made pokemon sweet spent A LOT of time and effort spriting all those unqiue pokesweets.
Unless you realllly care about wanting to remake all the sprites, you're better off using the default sprites
I really like that story. I feel it has a lot of potential, because it reminds me of the ancient weapons in an anime called One Piece (Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus).
Each area that has the ancient weapon could have it's own backstory and unique city that hosts the weapon.
I think you have...
This hack has the best writing of any rom hack I have ever seen. Even better than adventures red, plot-wise.
You're a very good writer and I love the intricate plot you've weaved from the canon, theories, and your own ideas.
This feels like what the actual original storyline should've been...
