After doing some research I believe I was using the wrong site for base stat reference. I have one last question. When Scyther evolves does his speed decreases despite any EV training you gave it? What if it's on Lv 99 or 100 does it still decrease?

I agree somewhat that the newer Pokemon do look a bit strange. I didn't like Generation 3 Pokemon at first but I got used to them. Gen 4 doesn't look that bad either. It's actually the Legendaries that look the strangest. They look like Yu-Gi-Oh monsters IMO.
