I think Pokemon evokes this sense of journey that we all wanted to embark on as children. Raising, breeding, and battling with virtual pets does something mentally to us as we develop as human beings. I think some may even say, pokemon taught us a lot about caring and value. When a game brings...
This may sound crazy, but pokemon players making money off of each other and finally not being the consumer to gamefreak/nintendo doesn't seem like a terrible thing.
That actually makes a lot of sense. I'm not completely sure if the marketplace would only be for adults, since kids spend money on DLCs on their smartphones and other video games. The same way my parents would spend hundreds of dollars for me to buy yugioh card booster boxes versus kids buying...
But if such a platform was created, do you think it just wouldn't work because everyone would buy a powersave? Or do you still think the platform would work, just a lot of people would be making a decent amount of money off of cloning there legit pokemon?
And that's something I have no answer for. I would think, the only thing that could be regulated are pokemon and items in legal paremater, and the safe transaction between the buyers and sellers without any shady report backs for money and such that ebay and paypal have often let happen. I think...
I'll be honest. I think genuine, unhacked pokemon have real monetary value. The issue is there is really no way to truly tell if any item or pokemon another player has is real or not. Even cheat pokemon can be legal if in the right parameters. I wouldn't buy pokemon from anyone on ebay solely...
I was thinking the same thing myself at first, with the ability of cloning and hacking. Scammers would look at such a place as a playground, but someone argued to me that if monitored and regulated correctly. Scams would be limited, and the environment would be civil. I still am unsure myself...
Hey Pokefam,
Two days ago, I posted a discussion about Pokemon and if they had real dollar value. This prompted a new discussion topic. I hope this is as interesting as the last topic. Some said Pokemon do have monetary value, and others said monetary value are meaningless due to cloning/hacks...
I agree with you, I think an in game marketplace would be hell. Personally, I would rather buy a digital pokemon from another pokemon player than from Nintendo. I already spend so much for nintendo products, and if nintendo gave pokemon players the power for once to build an economy of wealth...
From a corporation perspective, individual Pokemon wouldn't have a monetary value. I'm more interested in what us as pokemon players would find to be a monetary value for individual Pokemon. I think the trade of pokemon is a heavy part of pokemon culture. I think its that way, because trading is...
Yeah DLC in Pokemon sounds a little scary to me haha. What range do you believe people will pay for pokemon for? Its interesting how some may say a couple of dollars, while others say it could be way more.
Hey Pokefam,
Here I am again with another discussion question haha. When I was in elementary and middle school, Pokemon was a huge part of my childhood. Half way through high school, my dedication to Pokemon dwindled, and I didn't start picking up my excitement for it until my sophomore year of...
I wouldn't put it pass nintendo. Watching how people collectively paid nintendo millions for coins in pokemon go. I would only imagine what they might add to the games, then again why would they break something that doesn't need to be fixed. Pokemon video games have been doing amazing since the...
Hmm, that's interesting. Battling seems to be the main hook to why people play pokemon. So, I would only assume people would find a dollar value in pokemon for battling use. If the pokemon are hacked and get them banned, it would be a waste. It seems people would have to pay attention to the...
