    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Just mentioning that though we haven't been able to work on this lately, it has not been forgotten :3

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Progress update: He ended up making a lot of changes and then fixed some things to compile it in Visual Studio 2008. We're back from the family vacation today, so hopefully we can work on stuff again. I wouldn't doubt that it could be adapted by someone else for FireRed. :)

    All-Instrument Patch (FireRed, Ruby, Emerald)

First of all, I'd like to thank you for your hard work on this patch and for making it for Emerald as I had hoped ♥ However, I'm having a slight problem. When trying to apply the UPS patch to my clean Emerald ROM with Tsukuyomi, I'm getting an error: "Failed! Input checksum is invalid". Anyone...

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Update: He just finished reading through all the new material and says he's still planning. Sadly, it's a busy week this week, and we'll be away next week. (Otakon! ♥) But he's still working. ^^ It does seem like a possibility, but it might be a little ahead of its time.

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Update: My father trained all 5 of his Pokemon up to level 10. Before he entered Petalburg. Dat grind... Oh, really? That actually is very intriguing. Are you working on implementing diagonal movement in the emulator or the game itself?

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Thank you so much for all these resources! I've sent them on to him and browsed through them briefly myself--they look like a nice, solid foundation of information. I've updated the main post with these links for ease of access as you requested, Touched. ♪ He spent twenty minutes complaining...

    [Other] Question about Rom space

As far as I am aware, the amount of free space varies from ROM to ROM. What ROM are you using? That's probably the first thing people would need to know to answer you. However, as a guess... unless you were inserting ridiculously sized uncompressed images or adding multiple regions into your...

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Congratulations on almost being done! He basically told me that for his purposes, he just cares if the emulator runs Emerald properly and is stable, so the code he is using is working for him.

    All-Instrument Patch (FireRed, Ruby, Emerald)

I wish you good luck in all your hard work. It's really wonderful. ^^ I'm afraid that I'm not quite yet skilled enough in editing ROMs (do not know how to expand a ROM even, truthfully) to try and do that on my own, but I'll look into it.

Tool: Advanced Song: GBA Music Editor [Alpha 0.5] ~ Open-Source

Just would like to say I'm incredibly excited for this! Inserting music with Sappy is such a headache, and I have high hopes for your tool. ♥

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

Update: I spent last night teaching him how to play Pokemon. He just received the Pokedex. {XD} He's compiled the source code of VBA 1.7.2 and made his own changes to let him observe how Emerald works. He had to install Visual Studio 2003 to compile the code, though. I spoke to him, and he...

    All-Instrument Patch (FireRed, Ruby, Emerald)

This sounds wonderful! Is there any possibility of making this patch suitable for Emerald? That would be utterly amazing.

This is an excellent idea. I will probably get his explanation of things and then write a cohesive document using the information from the GBATek manual and other sources. I am not familiar with Cygwin, but I will present the idea to him.

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

That is definitely something to consider. I asked him about writing it in Python earlier, as I did notice the prevalence of Linux users here, but he was fairly clear that he did not want to use Python. Hopefully he will be open to one of these options. The program will absolutely be...

    Research: Calling All ASM Experts!

I have already given him the source code for 1.7.2, but I may give him the VBA-M code just in case. I will also look into radare, so thank you. He plans to write the program in C/C++, which is also the language he is most experienced in. He has experience with a large number of languages (he...
