My first mainline Pokémon game was FireRed in 2009 and I've been playing ever since. After choosing Squirtle as my first Pokémon, I've always loved immersing myself in the world and letting my imagination fill in the gaps of the games. Today I've played every core game as well as many of the spinoffs and I can for sure say that Pokémon is my favorite media franchise of all time. I'm currently a college student studying to get a bachelor's in computer science to potentially become a video game developer. I wouldn't say that I'm deadset on that as a career path but it's the plan for now. Despite being a fan for many years, I've never really been in any sort of community besides my friends that I know in persons so this is all kind of new to me. I'm joining this forum though because I recognize that Pokémon is a social game and I hope to enrich my own experience as well as others while making friends along the way. I enjoy anime, videogame/Japanese music, primarily Nintendo games, and I used to run Track and Cross Country. I spend more time than I'd like on Youtube and for Pokémon, I enjoy both replaying the games as well as battling online.
