I think the only gym I have ever found incredibly frustrating would be Lt. Surge's gym. It's entirely luck based, so no matter how many times you've played the game, you're forced to shift through each can looking for the mythical electric switch.

That works for me! I actually was meaning to go back to Glittering Cave to get the Gen 5 fossils. I couldn't find any before, so naturally the first rock I smashed was a Plume Fossil. The randomizer has blessed you with Scrafty, Wailord, Lapras, Goodra, Mawile-mega if possible, and Hippowdon.
