I've now bred a few pokemon with 6 perfect IV's: a Charmander, a Rhyhorn, and a Froakie (which had a bad nature so I decided to use a 5 IV Froakie for my team instead... it was a frustrating situation). I could probably get a Pichu and a Tyrunt with 6 if I wanted to waste a few hours hatching...

In Pokemon Y: caught Mewtwo on 2nd ultra ball and caught Zygarde with relative ease too. Never had an easier time catching the legendaries than I did in Pokemon Y. Still have to bump into Moltres a few more times before I get a chance to catch it.

aside from the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage, I've never come across a shiny in the wild in any of the games, but I was traded a shiny friend safari Ditto and I hatched a shiny Charmander in Pokemon Y while IV breeding. I want a shiny Tyrunt so bad! I'm ok with the rate change.
