I wouldn't worry about it honestly. I flashed a build from github onto to this random flash cart I have. I bet it isn't the right mbc or something. I had trouble with the strength puzzle also. I had to keep leaving and coming back to even get the boulders to show up lol. It sounds like this cart...

Forgot I made an account here lol. Are the legendary birds behind something like getting all the badges or beating the E4? I'm at seafoam now and articuno isn't on the platform. I haven't caught it yet neither.
