How good of a PC or laptop do you need for ROM hacking? Will a standard use laptop be able to run hacks and all the programs needed to create a ROM hack?
I need a new laptop which I will be primarily using for ROM hacking, as well as writing. What things should I consider when deciding which laptop to get? Are there any things it should/should not have?
So I’m making my first game but I’m not sure whether to use FR/LG or R/S/E.
I Like how R/S/E has more variety of blocks to choose from but the graphics and some tiles in FR/LG look better. How do you decide which ROM to use?
Hey, I’m still pretty new to this and have no idea how to move a tile from one set to another. For example, how do I move the Celadon department store tiles to the Pewter City tileset?
I’m new to ROM hacking, and I’m creating my first game.
I write fiction, so I know that the storyline that I have come up with will be exciting and entertaining, but I’m worried about the look of my game. I know how to map but I have no idea how to create or insert custom tiles since I’m so...
It depends to be honest. I’m not a fan of maelstrom, but any of the other 3 could work. Do you have a basic storyline or anything sorted? I find it much easier to come up with a game name that makes sense based on the story/region.
So I was working on my Firered map yesterday, but today I can’t load the ROM on Advance Map. I get the error message: ERROR: (EUnknownRomType) AdvanceMapError(12): Unknown Rom Type! This Rom cannot be edited with AdvanceMap.
I’m really confused seen as it was working fine yesterday. Any help...
