Yeah, there's a been a lot more downloads than usual lately, so google Drive has been hitting the download limit pretty much every day. I reuploaded them on Mega instead which should hopefully fix the problem.

I think you're looking for a different kind of game mate O.o
It's a graphical glitch that happens from time to time. Entering another area should return it to normal. It's mostly fixed in the recent versions so I suggest to update your game.

It depends on which version you're playing.
If you're playing 4.9 or before, they're in Celadon but you need to get more badges before they sell it. If you're playing 5.0+, they're sold in the Goldenrod department store

I recommend using 7zip to extract it. There's a lot of files so sometimes the default Windows unzipper has a hard time.

There are about 18,000 custom sprites included in the full download which is most of them, but the ones from spritepacks in the last 2-3 months might be missing.
Even by remaking the game from the ground up, it would be impossible to make it as a romhack. Roms don't have enough memory available. But I am in the process of upgrading to a newer version of Pokemon essentials, which does improve performance and stability a bit.
Yeah I know the project you're talking about, but that was by someone else and they were doing it without my permission. As far as I know the guy working on that didn't really have any experience and all they really did before abandonning the project was writing a few pages of "story".
