I made my team in aligns with the gym leaders to sweep them, so blue was the only one that troubled me. Feraligatr was my main sweeper though.

I went through the game with Feraligatr Amphros Pidgeot Ninetales Gengar Ursaring It was an iffy team, but got me through all 16 badges and the elite four. Side note; I didnt use this team to beat Red though,

I do usually, but I personally don't think feraligatr or typhlosion learn good enough moves so I usually get them and then start over and trade back just to get through the dex. I love Meganium as a defensive wall though, so I play through the game with it and sometimes in competing battling. In...
