Let's add in the fact Guzma has three pillows on his bed. The game heavily hints that number of pillows indicates number of people sleeping in the bed. So either Guzma is a pillow hog or someone besides Plumeria shares his bed.

I think the minigames could've been implemented at the beginning of the game, where you go through pokebeans like god. But other than that I think Refresh is better, and the grooming kind of replaces the minigames as you're giving your pokemon extra affection they can't normally receive...
