I play Pokemon very leisurely. I am not into competitive scene so I don't know much about EV training or importance of the other stats.

I also only play rom hacks. I am lazy about grinding so I usually train about 4 Pokemon unless it's absolutely necessary to have 6 to beat the league. So, mostly my team is usually all set within the first 1/3 of the game unless all the Pokemon I find early is crap, then I just train my starter and maybe one or two other Pokemon until I can capture stronger Pokemon later on the game.
