Haha, no problem friend. Oh yea, me too. It usually takes me only a few minutes to get a good grasp on the backstory I want my characters to have. It a little difficult at times but it usually just comes together.

They'll understand each other on a deeper level if they ever end up interacting with one another. And I never thought you did, I noticed your SU's before. You think them through thoroughly before throwing em up; so I pretty certain that you didn't.

How you wanted what to go? Your SU or their interaction?

I like to capture whatever it seems like my char would want to capture there and then, and then let meaning build and grow as the trainer and pokemon interact and grow personalities that play well together. Think about the Adventures manga; the most oddest assemblies of pokemon became iconic teams because they were seen together.

And it's just a RP, you're meant to play things out as Christina would have done them :3 if you want a dreamteam off the bat, fanfiction is probably the easier way to go.

I don't decide at random, most of the ones I take are from the games established wild pokémon. And then I add some from newer generations to the areas where there are repeats from earlier areas or just too few pokémon for my taste. I try to make them fit the area, naturally.

Joltik can totally come in Ilex forest. A bit late for your taste maybe, hmm. Maybe I can include some wished for pokémon in an event in Azalea! :3
