Usually I try to replant/water berries as soon as I pick fresh ones but since I'm doing a Powerhouse Mono Challenge, I'm mainly just trying to get through the game as after I complete it, I'll just restart my file. I'm on Route 205 (Right after Floroma Town) and am enroute to Eterna Forest >.<

That would be a solo-type challenge. You can have however many FIRE types on your team to BATTLE. Even if it's Fire/Fighting or Fire/- , as long as Fire is the dominate type, you can use them in battle. You're not limited to the number of that type on your team. But no, you cannot use HM slaves...
