I'm not sure but it might have been the Cinnabar Island glitch (where you can get pokemon over lv 100 in R/B/Y), because I had read about it in some magazine. Without intentionally looking for it, it was probably the hall of fame glitch that resulted from using the Cinnabar Island glitch.

Interesting list. Why do you rate R/B/Y and G/S/C higher than their remakes?

I've played both and as far as I can tell it's the exact same game. The only difference is that in the 3DS version you can get the GS Ball and catch Celebi while in the original GBC version you couldn't (except in the Japanese version).
