Same here, Cyndaquil was always my first starter though to be honest my genuine starter that I beat the game with was either Rattata or Clefairy. (Once I caught a rattata that was all I used, least in the metal gen; and used clefairy and rattata in the colour gen)

I totally agree, as I also prefer those types though I do have a REALLY soft spot for normal Pokemon. I beat Pokemon Red with just a Clefairy (no hacks)... that kinda goes to show just how much I like those pink little faires.

Hmmmm, well (hehehe) I would have to say my Clefairy in Red, trained it from a lvl 10 clefairy and evolved it to Clefable after it learned metronome and beat the Elite 4 and my Rival with JUST it alone. So yeah I would say Clefairy/Clefable.
