    I can't confirm any of the daytime-based evolution issues. I was evolve my Riolu into a Lucario at daytime, but I noticed that the in-game time (which you can check by interacting with the clock in your room) doesn't align with my 3DS's system time. Maybe that's what got some people confused...

    FYI: There is a bug where the game freezes when you register the "LANTERN" key item in your bag, activate it in a dark place by pressing the select button and then activate it again by pressing select again
