Ah, great to know! Any advice about the badge requirements for Rock Smash? I can't seem to get fight my rival in the burnt tower and therefore can't fight Morty. I appear to be stuck.

This isn't a solution so much as an alternative, but I have been using a Save State instead of a file save and it's been working fine for me.

Great hack so far! Wish Goldenrod had TMs though. Being able to buy several copies of the elemental punches was huge. I got stuck at the burnt tower. I have 3 badges and when I attempt to use Rock Smash it tells me I need a new badge. Suggestions or am I just being an idiot and missing...
