    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

For players who want a rebalanced version of the original with greater challenge, this is the best game out there. Best Pokemon game I've played

    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

Heracross appears in Kanto, Viridian Forest, any time of day, 5% chance, always at lvl 66. Best available fighting types prior to that are probably Machamp or Poliwrath according to Crystal_. I'm going to try using Kangaskhan :D

Anyone know where Heracross is? It doesn't appear on my Pokedex at all, checked Morning, Day and Night times.

If I recall, Falkner cap is 20, Bugsy is 30. I feel Falkner is still on the easy side, but depending on your team/levels Bugsy can be surprisingly tough.

Miltank can be found at Morning time west of Ecruteak. Found Kangaskhan and Tauros west of Ecruteak also. Phanpy can be found at Route 46 at Day time (12pm-7pm). Couldn't find Phanpy during Morning interestingly.

Thinking of starting a second run through my favorite Pokemon game. Can anyone recommend some Pokemon sets they had a lot of fun with? I enjoyed my BoltBeam Clefable with Sing/Moonlight, Feraligatr (Screech, Rock Slide), and Xatu (Psychic, Drill Peck). Update: interesting caught a Staryu in the...

    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

I just beat Blue at Viridian to collect my 8th badge. Where should I head next? I found Mt. Silver, but just wanting to not miss any major areas. I don't think I've done Whirlpool or Seafoam Islands. Edit: just beat Red. Thought I would post some quick reflections. > Mintberry and...

^I have the same feeling. This is not only the best Pokemon game I've played, but the best Japanese rpg experience. Thanks for a wonderful, meticulously crafted experience. You have done a great service to humanity.

Help Thread: Stuck in a ROM hack? Get help here!

I'm playing Pokemon Pyrite and am stuck in the Goldenrod Tunnel at the switch puzzle. I pressed the switches in order 3, 2, 1 but nothing opened. Tried various combinations but still stuck.

    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

I'm stuck in the Goldenrod Tunnel switch puzzle. In the vanilla game you press switch 3, 2, 1 but that's not working on my game. Edit: door somehow opened after just pressing switches at random. I'm not a puzzle gamer ;D

Anyone with experience using Safeguard? I feel like it could be useful in the Gym battles/tougher battles. I'm considering training up a Meganium, and looking into a good moveset.

    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

Ahh I haven't seen Chinchou yet so I can't use the Pokedex to find it. Some Pokemon that you can catch earlier than in vanilla: I found a Pikachu and Mankey in grasses near Cherrygrove/Violet City. Abra on the Violet City side of the Dark Cave at night. Dunsparce seem a lot more common as I saw...

    Crystal hack: Pokemon Pyrite

I noticed some Pokemon appeared in different areas from the vanilla game! Where is Chinchou in this version? I don't know how to use the Pokedex. Edit: found Psyduck in the grasses outside the Ruins of Alph.
