Don't bother with EV training (not trying to sound rude here) unless you want to restart your poke's. Anyway even if you were going to use EV training you might as well want to devise your team for competitive battles as the npc's aren't that hard to deal with without EV training.
Have fun with both:p

Meanwhile in nowhere land, a wild rayquaza appears from the sky stealing shaymin and blasting you off like team rocket with a hyper beam. Rayquaza returns to sky pillar and gives me the Shaymin and we set off in the sky.
Umbreon was the best choice ever... EVER. It was so defensive to the point where if it got a crit on it or a super eff on it, it wouldn't even quarter its hitpoints.
It even got better to the point where it learned confuse ray and some other status effects.
I honestly found timburr and the evolutions after to be a let down. It was a good poke to have in the beginning but it slowly got worse when you progressed through the game.
Blaine was pretty cool. I loved the pokemon he had in his team and it was the most challenging gym i faced. I had no water-types and half my team had a weakness to fire.
Pokemon black was really interesting so it is my favorite. The storyline kept me going to play the game and i liked how you had 2 rivals. I also liked the fact that you could rebattle the elite four and battle the champion after.
It was a nice little challenge.
