I think it varies based on starter Pokemon you picked, but since I almost always picked Charmander (Picked Squirtle once), Erika is the easiest

I so agree with you, I always wanted to play Green, but I don't understand a word of Japanese at all, Leaf Green was nice, but it isn't the same :(

To be honest, the only issue I have ever had with the game was the hardware itself, I couldn't tell you how P'O'ed I was when I turn on the game and the save was gone, later found out that the internal battery tries up over time, but only with Red and Blue, because somehow the save function...
