    False! I've chosen the grass starter many times as I loved treeko in gen III and most recently in X/Y my roomates and I did a lottery to see who got which starter. The Person below me has never made their own pokemon Rom Hack!

    Thanks for the quick reply machomuu. My biggest concern with the player driven flag sequence was also the size limit for having too many flags and events as alternate routes to take. Having all those flags does however force people to make many save states to really experience the full game...
