  • Oh, it's quite different to the Soundcloud tap thing (in that it's significantly more consistant/accurate). :)
That's pretty cool. A friend of MINE should be producing, but he's just too lazy. He's got Ableton and knows how to do some things but he hasn't done ANYTHING. I'm eventually going to do a collab track with him to get him into it, haha.
That song is pretty cool! I like the genre (Wonky), haha :P I could definitely hear someone rapping over it! That's one problem with producing- I write lyrics for almost all of my songs, but I don't like singing for them (even with Autotune), so I have to wait and try to find someone willing to do vocals for free, haha.
Well, that's actually a perfectly valid way to do it too, but it probably wouldn't hurt to use the Tap method just to be sure. You just right-click the tempo box (that's usually set to 130 or 140 BPM by default). Select Tap, and then.. click on the tap icon to tap out the tempo. :)
Sometimes songs are a bit... uncooperative, and have weird tempos like 129.3462. At least, that seems to happen, sometimes. :P If it seems to alternate between two tempos that are right next to each other (like 124/125 and so on), chances are it's somewhere in between :P
Well the handy thing about FL is the Tap function. While the acapella plays, you can tap along to match the BPM. Then you just cut the song track up to fit with your beats. Sometimes it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find a songs tempo if its not entirely regular, lol.
And I've had that problem too; I just unfollow them, after. It's just.. poor manners, really.
Well I started with mashups, and eventually I was actually making them by producing them myself with synthesis and stuff, rather than mashing the two tracks together. For remixing there's no real "tips" I can give", it's like asking "how do I make a song?". You just use elements of the original song, rearrange things, bring in your own elements, and.. well, that's it. it takes practice but its just like making a song onlf your own, only you're basing it on an existing song :)

And that's pretty cool! My follower build-up is okay, but quite gradual. it tends to fluctuate a bit, which was annoying as I reached the 50 follower mark :3
Yeah, deadlines suck. I wouldn't mind but I was pretty confident about it and all, lol. Oh well, there'll be more, I guess :)

Thanks. It was one of the few times I remixed a song that I'd heard very little of beforehand, but I'm pleased with it. The good thing about remixing something without knowing the original well is that you can be totally original with it, but there's also a risk you'll butcher it and it'll turn out crap. :P

Oooh, I love the sound of '8-bit song'. (Literally too, I suppose XD). I've made an 8-bit influenced track, I'm still working on it nowadays since there's certain sections that are... well, pure crap, but I'm still working on it, and it's sooooooo fun to use 8-bit sounds. :D
Oh, pretty cool. I've heard a fair bit about Garageband, but I don't know anybody who uses it. Most either use Ableton or Logic, and one of my friends even bought ProTools, but I don't think I'll ever have the money to spend to go THAT far, lol. :P That sounds pretty interesting- it's always fun to experiment and toy with ideas, so go for it! :)

I've not been doing too much production lately, although this is the latest track I made. It was initially for a remix competition but I had too much to do around the deadline, and I only found out three days before, so I just didn't bother rushing and I decided to make it without entering, haha.
It's not annoying, hahaha :P I just sometimes don't get to respond to VMs right away, and forget to respond to them later. You can tell away, if you like XD
I will tell you the Z stands for Zebrahead. =D But that's as much as i'll say. Feel free to Wiki it.
Haha I do the same, I always keep a note pad with me for that reason xD Not that I ever plan to use the lyrics :p
