no you don't need to interact with the emulator at all.
Just press R+START together right in the game.
This will bring up a debug menu where you can navigate to "Flags & Vars" and then "Toggle Collision OFF". This will allow you to walk through walls and get out of the situation.

You simply didn’t understand the hint.
You should do exactly what the hint said because that triggers a feature you need to use.
If you don’t figure it out you can check existing runs on YouTube to see what it’s about. :)

We’re friends with nemo and it’s a rather absurd idea for both of us.
But the hack is open source, so if anyone wants to change graphics they’re free to do so themselves.
There’s literally all information in the zip file.
Just unpack it and read the ReadMe.
If you Don’t know what a zip file is or how to open it, please google it.

I removed the fishing encounters on purpose because some people just grinded their way through the whole game.
This is gonna be an interesting situation to solve on my end. Gotta think about how to fix this game state in a future release.

I am pretty much aware of everything you mentioned.
The where was fixed after v1.4 was out. So hopefully will be in a v1.5

I used Midjourney to get picture templates for the Title Screen and then reworked them manually and stitched everything together.
I’m not an artist by any means so I am grateful this was an option. :)
