Doubt it, considering the wording.
Our next patch will likely be 1.5 a few months out
If they planned for 1.5 to be the last big version, they would have said something like our final patch will be 1.5
1) Leaks don't mean confirmation, and it's very easy to fake things.
2) If it might happen, why should are we complaining about it now? Ask for it after it releases, especially since Nintendo cracked down on sharing leaked content after that huge leak last year. Plus, dev hasn't said if they...
It is normal for difficulty hacks, which you already stated in the Crimson Red (another difficulty hack) thread you don't like playing, yet continue to play and complain about xD
Why do you insist on playing hacks you don't like and then complaining when you don't like them?
1) Download Patch
2) Use patcher (either one you downloaded or an online patcher) to combine the patch with a clean Emerald ROM
3) Load the newly patched ROM it spits out in your emulator
Most of the time dev(s) tell you when save files are incompatible with an update, so I'm assuming you are save.
As for transferring saves, make sure the new patched ROM is the same name as your old one when replacing it.
The same way you patch any other hack. Get the base ROM needed (in this case Emerald) and the patch, and use a patcher to combine them. romhacking.net has a browser based patcher so you can do it on any device too.
