Thanks for the help about Mega Pikachu! It's not a glitch. Press A on the space just before it and you'll activate an event. You get Mega Stones throughout your adventure, but you can buy more at both Valencia Island and Pumello Island. Pumello Island has a bigger selection though.

Two quick questions: 1) Can Mega Pikachu X still use the Light Ball? 2) Is Mega Pikachu X not supposed to have an ability?

Actually, I believe they're referring to when you dive underwater and use the Itemfinder to find Surf, not getting to the route itself. Interact with the area just in front of the spot and you'll activate an event. The teleport lady isn't present after the Kumquat Island event. Surf to Route 9...

Beldum has a catch rate of 3, which is probably about on par with most legendaries between gens 1 and 3.

You can catch a Pikachu in Viridian Forest and evolve it, but the one you get in Pewter City doesn't evolve. Congrats on the job!
