    Sometimes that does the trick, but once I've cleared getting the sprite into APSE, I get an unhandled exception error when I click Write to ROM. Never gotten past that point so far. Is the error happening because the shiny sprite is messed up? http://i.imgur.com/roSUHjg.png

    Ok, well in NSE when I try to transfer Gary's sprites to replace the Hero's, I get this message. Which says it won't work because the hero as 19 sprites (fishing, running, etc) as opposed to Gary's main 8. Is there any way around this? I just plan to use Gary's main 8 sprites. Thanks

    Hey, is there any simple way I can just change the overworld player sprite to say, Gary or Lance? I'm not trying to edit the sprites, just make the player some other character already in the game, so I don't want to go into Overworld Editor and change pixel by pixel. Thanks

    So decrease the original sprite to 16, copy it, edit the pallete by switching background with black and black with background, save, open post-pallete in Paint, then paste the pre-pallete over it? I think I did that but no luck so far, unLZ keeps saying it's not Indexed.

    Yeah. I decreased to 16 colors in IrfanView, did the pallete thing where you switch black with the background color, saved, opened in Paint, pasted original sprite over it. Comes out to 32 colors for some reason.

    That much works, but some problem occurs when I paste the original sprite over the post-IrfanView sprite in MS Paint that makes it go from 16 colors to 32. I even tried making the original sprite 16 colors thru IrfanView and that didn't work either. Hmm...

    Trying to replace a trainer sprite by importing it into unLZ, but it keeps telling me the image is not Indexed when I've done the standard treatment to Index it (Irfanview, 16 colors, paste into paint, paste over it the original), which has worked for my other sprites... just not this one...
