Err no? There are a lot of Bulbasaur fans out there. And it's generally the least popular because of aesthetics reasons. Bulbasaur in Gen1 was broken with 2 broken moves and had the highest special stats. Even most people who don't pick Bulbasaur admit that's it does better than the other two...

Having an advantage over Caterpie and Metapod are hardly something to talk about. Fire itself is useless in Kanto, there's only 1 gym that is weak to fire and exactly 2 Pokemon during the E4 that also have a weakness to fire.

I picked Charmander in FireRed and Bulbasaur in LeafGreen.

Without Surge's Thunderbolt TM there's no way to get Thunderbolt back.

Charmander was my first pick... 3 playthroughs later I picked Bulbasaur and it became my favorite till now. I picked Squirtle the first time last month, It was awesome but I still prefer the other better water pokemon (Starmie/Slowbro) or the cooler ones (Cloyster).. But Onix is 4 times weak...

I only played RBY once and it was a solo run so I didn't feel any leader being hard. in FRLG however, Koga gives me the most trouble for some reason. His Minimize Muk is really annoying and a serious threat.

I'm in, but I'd rather have a reboot over a remake. A reboot with Blue and Green being rivals (or Red if you chose Green) and Johto being accessible would be awesome.
