How about just remove it for mons with Poison Heal, Immunity, & Magic Guard. Makes sense because their ability prevents damage in battle.

Too much? You mean like it's cheating? But that's how they made it in Gen V and onwards Probably because later gens have abilities like Magic Guard and Poison Heal that should prevent poison damage even outside battle
